Happy new year, friends! Can you believe its 2024 already? Last year was a year FULL of amazing blessings. God moved mountains for my family and I could not be more grateful for a year full of travel, love, family, challenges, friendships, and NEW beginnings.
If you haven’t been following along my Instagram journey, then I have a lot to catch you up on!
I have officially resigned from teaching–after 13 years of teaching high school English. The way it all unfolded is truly surreal and God led. After many years of prayer and consideration, the metaphorical doors of life opened and I made one of the biggest decisions I have ever had to make.
Saying goodbye to education is most certainly one of–if not the MOST scariest thing I have ever done. Despite not letting my fear prevent me from making the final decision, I can say with 100% certainly that I am at peace with saying goodbye (for now).
To my most recent students, and every other student who I have been blessed to teach, I want you to know that you hold a special place in my heart. The memories we created together in my classroom will forever be cherished. From the laughter and learning to the challenges we faced and overcame, each of you has left an indelible mark on my life.
Teaching has been an incredible privilege, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have crossed paths with so many bright minds and beautiful souls. Your curiosity, enthusiasm, and unique perspectives have inspired me every day. Watching you grow, learn, and discover your passions has been the most rewarding experience.
While I will miss being in the classroom and witnessing your growth firsthand, I am excited to embark on this new chapter and devote more time to my family. They have been my rock and support throughout this journey, and now it’s time for me to give them the attention and love they deserve.
Thank you, my dear students, for allowing me to be a part of your lives. Remember, education is a lifelong journey, and I have no doubt that each of you will continue to achieve great things. Stay curious, keep exploring, and never stop learning.
I am truly excited to see what life has in store for me.
2024 has some pretty exciting things in store and I can’t wait to share more with you all on that soon.
In the meantime, I COULD NOT be more excited to debut my new website to you guys. With the help of Gillian Sarah!! She was amazing to work with and I could not more proud of the final result. I wanted a website that was easy to use and that represented ME in my current stage of life 🙂 If you are ever in the market of a revamp, reach out to her and let her know that Angie Wilson (The Gadabouter) sent ya!! Check out her website by clicking here.
My goal this year is to be more present and write more in this forum. Writing brings me so much joy and is truly an outlet that provides me the leeway to create a space that represents my journey through this life.
Whether my writing is about what I have been going through lately, my travel adventures, Disney, recipes, my kiddos, I will write whatever is on my heart and mind–without fear of having to stick to a niche or box (because who wants to feel confined and boxed in?!). Now, I will have more time to actually do it!!
In the meantime, I am praying for you all to have such an amazing year!!!
